The finish is what customers see and touch, and it is usually what decides whether a piece of hardware looks premium. Here is what each finish we offer actually is, and what to expect from it in use.
Matt
A brushed or satin surface on stainless steel. It diffuses light, hides fingerprints and small scratches, and matches most modern kitchen laminates. The most popular choice for handles and legs in modular kitchens.
Glossy
Polished stainless steel with a mirror-like surface. Reflects light and reads as bright and clean. Shows fingerprints more than matt, so it suits wardrobes and feature furniture better than heavily used kitchen drawers.
Black
A black coating over the steel. Pairs well with white, grey and wood-grain boards and is currently the most requested finish for handles. Like all coated finishes it can mark if scraped with sharp metal objects, but it stands up well to normal use.
PVD gold and rose gold
PVD (physical vapour deposition) deposits a thin, hard metallic layer onto polished stainless steel in a vacuum chamber. The result is a true metallic gold or rose gold colour that is bonded to the surface rather than painted on. It is far more durable than lacquered brass-effect finishes and does not need polishing. Avoid acidic or abrasive cleaners.
Lining and silver-cut
Decorative finishes on selected stainless steel sofa legs. Lining has fine machined grooves; silver-cut has polished facets cut into a matt body. Both are used when the leg is a design feature.
Antique white-silver and satin
Available on the steel knob range. Antique white-silver gives an aged, slightly darkened look for traditional furniture; satin is a soft, low-sheen silver between matt and glossy.
Matching across products
Matt, glossy, black, gold and rose gold are available on sofa legs, handles and knobs, so a full room can be matched. If exact colour matching matters, order all items in one batch and ask us to confirm the finish against a sample.
Cleaning
- Wipe with a soft dry or slightly damp cloth.
- No scouring pads, steel wool or powder cleaners.
- No acidic cleaners (vinegar, lemon, descalers) on gold, rose gold or black.
- Dry any splashes promptly rather than letting water sit on fittings.
